About The Event
Okanogan Conservation District, Town of Twisp, and Methow Valley Clean Air Project are offering free chipping of woody debris to reduce the amount of hazardous PM 2.5 released into the air when debris piles are burned.
Due to limited funding and space, this event is restricted to the first 25 people to sign up. Each person can bring the equivalent of at least one and no more than two pickup truck loads of CLEAN, natural (no lumber) woody debris. Woody debris up to 5 inches in diameter is acceptable.
DO NOT BRING metal, seeds or cones, Russian olive, Chinese elm or other toxic material or weeds. No bags of leaves or pine needles; these clog the chipper.
Once registered, participants will receive detailed instructions including location, size and types of materials that can be chipped, and how to pick up chips for use in home landscapes or other projects.
Funding for this event is provided in part by a Pollution Prevention grant to the Okanogan Conservation District from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
