Our communities are strongest when our natural resources are healthy and our neighborhoods are resilient. Whether you are a full time or part time resident, owner or renter, we can work with you to enhance wildlife habitat, deal with drought, and prepare for and recover from wildfires.

Explore below to see what programs we currently offer. If you don't see the program you're looking for, please contact us.

Conservation begins

at home.

"My favorite thing about the Okanogan Conservation District is that they truly care about and know the communities across Okanogan County."
Wildfire Risk Assessments: Are you Firewise?

Request a free assessment to evaluate your home's wildfire risk and receive a prioritized list of actions to reduce the chance of losing your home to a fire. We do assessments whenever the ground is snow-free (generally March-November).

Native Plants and Wildlife

Keep the Okanogan wild! We can help you enhance wildlife habitat on your property and work with you to reduce potential conflicts with our local fauna. For a list of plants for specific situations, and nurseries that carry them, scroll down to the Resources section.

Concerned about weeds? Contact the Okanogan County Noxious Weed Control Board.

For general gardening questions, contact the WSU Master Gardener program.
