About The Event
The Okanogan Conservation District in partnership with the National Department of Fish and Wildlife, recently completed a project to help support landowners in improving their irrigation efficiencies. The program aimed to highlight how current technology can assist land managers in identifying inefficiencies in irrigation systems and application methods through the utilization of drones.
Okanogan CD, with the assistance of Aspect Consulting’s Drone team, conducted drone flights at 11 sites across the County this past August. The flights produced aerial, imagery and sensory data that assisted the evaluation of the health of the crop, efficiency of the irrigation systems, and aided in producing Irrigation Water Management plans that are site and crop specific. Identifying inefficiencies and implementing thier water management plan will support local water ways and salmon habitat.
Join us for the presentation to hear from Okanogan CD's Irrigation Planner, Jordana Ellis, and Aspect consulting, who will present on the project and the opportunities available to land mangers when using drones!
The presentation begins at 6:15pm - 7:30pm and doors open at 6:00 PM, at the PUD Auditorium on Tuesday March 5th!
