Time for Fall Chipping & Dumpsters!

Hello Residents of Okanogan County,

It's time for fall Air Care events! The Okanogan Conservation District will host chipping events and green waste dumpster disposal free of charge throughout the county. We encourage you to take part in the events coming to your area to promote better air quality by serving as an alternative to burning.

Find more information below and sign up for your community chipping event!

Soft Waste/Green Waste Dumpsters:

This is for vegetative disposal of natural plant-based materials that cannot be chipped. Materials such as leaves, pine needles, grass clippings, woodchips, and pinecones are allowed. NO large woody debris, trash, or animal carcasses.

Woody Waste Dumpsters: Disposal of natural plant-based materials that includes smaller woody debris such as bushes, twigs, branches less than 6-feet in length.

Chipping Events:

Gather up your woody materials (branches, tree limbs, bushes, etc.) and stack 3-ft wide by 3-ft tall pile(s) at the end of your driveway by 8am on the FIRST day of your community event. A chipper will come through the communities listed below and chip the woody materials. If you are interested in participating, please make sure to sign up for your chipping event and provide contact information so we can find your materials!

*After materials are chipped, the chips will be left in place of the pile or transported to a central drop off area.

Learn more about how to use chips for landscaping, compost, mulch, etc., on our resources page.
