Conservation Educator Position Now Accepting Applications

This AmeriCorps position will assist teachers who want to bring high quality STEM experiences to their students by participating in our K12 programs. Okanogan County is a very large and rural county with underserved students and limited resources to support K12 teachers. The Okanogan Conservation District is one of the only organizations working with area teachers to enhance their science curricula through hands-on learning and field experiences. Most of Okanogan CD’s education programming is related to water quality. All our programming supports Next Generation Science Standards and is tailored to teachers’ curricula. This project also includes planting and maintenance of riparian buffers. AmeriCorps member will experience field service with conservation planners and Education Specialist that will be useful while serving with students. This position is contingent on funding.
