Board Elections Set for March 14th, 2023: Candidate Filing Closes February 10th at 3:00pm

The Okanogan Conservation District has two positions on the Board of Supervisors expiring this spring. This includes one elected position chosen by registered voters in the district, and one appointed position chosen by the Washington State Conservation Commission (WSCC).


The OCD Board of Supervisors, three of whom are elected and two of whom are appointed, serve without compensation, and sets policy and direction for the conservation district. See the list of responsibilities of a member of the Board of Supervisors for more information.

How do I file as a candidate for an open position?

Learn about the roles and responsibilities of elected and appointed members of the Board of Supervisors at www.scc.wa.gov/elections-and-appointments.


Elected: Candidates interested in the elected position must be registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the Okanogan Conservation District. For filing forms and information, please contact Okanogan CD Election Officer, Becky Drenner, at becky@okanogancd.org or (509) 429-3418. Elected candidates must file by 3:00 PM on February 10th, 2023.


Appointed: Candidates interested in applying for the state-appointed position do not need to live within the district boundaries. Go to www.scc.wa.gov/elections-and-appointments for more information and download the application form. Appointed candidates must apply by March 31, 2023.

Who can vote?

If you are a registered voter living within district boundaries, you are eligible to vote for the elected position. District boundaries encompass all of Okanogan County, including the towns of Okanogan, Conconully, East Omak, Elmer City, Coulee Dam, Winthrop, and the Colville Reservation. If you live in the towns of Twisp, Oroville, Tonasket, Riverside, West Omak, Brewster, and Pateros, you are not eligible to vote as those towns have not yet annexed into the district.


Where do I vote?

A poll site election for the elected position on the District Board of Supervisors will be held on March 14th, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the district office which is located at 1251 2nd Ave. S., in Okanogan.

If you would like an absentee ballot, please contact OCD Election Officer, Becky Drenner, at becky@okanogancd.org or (509) 429-3418. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 3:00 PM, on February 20th, 2023. Absentee ballots must be post-marked no later than election day, March 14th, 2023.
